Postpartum exercises

Pregnancy and childbirth lead to certain physical changes in the body of the woman and mother. In order for the body to recover as quickly as possible, and the muscles to return to their normal function, it is necessary to do exercises specifically designed for such a condition of the woman’s body in the period after childbirth.

The exercise program is always formed individually, and depends on the current physical fitness of the mother. Special attention in the exercise programs is devoted to targeted strengthening of the weakened muscles of the pelvis and abdomen, as well as educating the mother on how to behave when carrying the baby, changing clothes and breastfeeding.

The doctor’s advice is for women who had a natural birth to start exercising around the third week after giving birth. After cesarean delivery, exercises are started slowly six weeks after delivery.
